Aims & challenges

SIEAM’s responsibility for drinking water and sanitation make it a key player and partner in the field of environmental protection.

Key challenges
• To guarantee the quality of drinking water production and wastewater treatment
• To ensure the quality of our projects to guarantee a stable price for purified water
• To constantly improve our knowledge and the way in which our installations operate in order to provide a better service for users
• To continue to introduce computer tools: GIS (geo-referenced plans, etc.)
• To use a social pricing policy to fight against insecurity and exclusion
• To develop our communication and promote our action: website, brochures, etc.

Drinking water
• To produce high-quality drinking water
• To maintain our installations and networks in good working order
• To take part in the Departmental Plan for Secure Drinking Water Supplies
• To improve our knowledge of our assets in order to target our actions, anticipate problems and become more reactive
• To evaluate and model our distribution installations in order to support urban development and secure operations during seasonal variations
• To draw up a multi-year programme to detect leaks and renew facilities and pipe-work
• To renew meters so that the maximum age is 12 years, with approximately 750 new meters every year
• To continue to secure high-quality supplies of drinking water: Borehole audit, analysis monitoring, etc.

Sanitation
• To guarantee the collection and treatment of wastewater in compliance with the regulations
• To be a partner to local environmental projects: irrigation of green spaces or sports facilities (Tosse Golf Project)
• To improve our knowledge of our assets in order to target our actions, anticipate problems and become more reactive
• To carry out an analysis and draw up an outline plan for our wastewater collection, transport and treatment installations
• To draw up a multi-year programme of works to renovate or renew networks to eliminate infiltration clear water
• To continue to extend our collection in areas of environmental importance and in urban development areas
• To continue our preventive maintenance actions on installations and facilities
