The association

Founded in 2000, the association includes the communes of Soustons, Azur, Messanges and Vieux Boucau and is responsible for the treatment and distribution of drinking water and the collection and treatment of wastewater in these 4 communes.

SIEAM serves 15,000 inhabitants outside the summer season and 100,000 inhabitants during the summer season.
The average volume of water distributed is 3,500 m3 per day.
The peak volume may exceed 10,000 m3 per day.
Wastewater is treated before being infiltrated (no direct discharge into the natural environment).
To fulfil this public service mission, SIEAM is organized into 5 departments and has an overall workforce of 20.

Since 2004, the association’s head office has been at 1, Square d’Aquitaine, Soustons.
