STUDIES IN PROGRESS

Sanitation and drinking water evaluations.

This diagnostic study of SANITATION should enable us to:
- draw up an evaluation of the condition of the wastewater drainage networks
- gain a clear idea of the impact on receiving environments of installation malfunctions in dry and wet weather
- plan the future development of sanitation structures to meet the Association’s current and future needs
- draw up a coherent multi-year investment programme prioritized according to effectiveness in protecting the natural environment, as expressed by objective indicators
- draw up rules for the technical management of the networks with a view to optimizing their operation.

The study will be carried out in 5 phases as follows:
- Phase 1: Collect data and analyze the existing system
- Phase 2: Evaluate the collection system operation
- Phase 3: Carry out further investigations
- Phase 4: Technical and financial study of the various possible sanitation scenarios and programme of works
- Phase 5: Update the outline plan for sanitation in the 4 communes

The diagnostic study of DRINKING WATER should enable us to meet the following objectives:
- Draw up an inventory of the drinking water treatment and distribution system;
- Draw up an evaluation of the operation of the current drinking water network and use the PORTEAU software package to model the network
- Evaluate the commune’s future supplies and needs;
- Draw up a costed, prioritized programme of works to improve the current situation and incorporate developments within the commune.

The study will be carried out in 5 phases as follows:
- Phase 1: Collect data and analyze the existing system,
- Phase 2: Measurement campaign - Sectorization
- Phase 3: Network modelling
- Phase 4: Treatment plant evaluation
- Phase 5: Draw up the outline plan for drinking water
